Yep I GOT ANOTHER COMPANION!!! Haha I think I hold the record for the most companions in 3 months as a missionary.
On Monday President Rowley called and asked if there was anyway we could fit 3 Sisters in our apartment. I told him that it would be kind of hard but that we could do it because what President wants goes, and obviously he has a good reason for it. So on Wednesday Sister Patton moved here from Surabaya. She is from Michigan. She is half Korean half American, so she lived in Korea until she was 13 and then she moved to America. So she can speak Korean. She has been on her mission for about 9 months. So now we are a threesome! Right now Sister Utomo is sleeping on a roll up mat on the floor, but today we are supposed to be getting a bunkbed to put over top of the trundle bed we have now. So far I have had 6 companions in Jakarta and total for my mission is 12. That's almost more than one companion for every transfer I've been here. So that's fun :) This week we decided to give Sister _______ the Cerita-Cerita Perjanjian Baru (New testament stories) book so she could read that and learn about Jesus. We read the first one with her and then told her to read the next two before we came back, and when we went back on Saturday she had already read 14 chapters! She would point to all the pictures and be like "That guys wicked and he wanted to kick Jesus out" and she would tell about the miracles that he did and it was so cool. She's still slow and steady but she's really great and one day she will be able to get that testimony she is looking for. Also this week we met with ________. We read 2 Nephi 31 and she said her favorite verse was when it tells us to follow Christ and repent and be baptized. She didn't understand the whole thing about priesthood authority, but we explained it again and she kind of got it. She said she would have to ask her mom if she could get baptized. She didn't come to church again yesterday, but she still had a desire to learn so we're still going to work with her. She really wants to find the truth, it's just a process for everyone. Sister Patton was in Jakarta for her first week while waiting for her VISA, so she remembered a less active member that me and Sister Xiao couldn't find when we were white washing. But Sister Patton remembered where she lived so we went there this week and she came to church with her two kids! That's so cool that Heavenly Father puts us in the right place and he brought Sister Patton here so she could help Sister Rianah come back. So Awesome!!. There was also another less active member that came to church as well! It's really great when you can see that your effort is actually making a difference. I hope you have a great summer week and that you're enjoying the same weather I am haha. Love you!! Love, Sister Davis
