Hi Everyone!
On P-day after skyping we went bowling as a district. It is super cheap and it was way fun! Indonesians are definitely not good at bowling haha. I'll send a couple pictures of it :) On Tuesday President called and asked how I was doing. I told him it didn't hurt and I wanted to try biking again. He said he really didn't want me to move to Jakarta so I'm staying here! Which I'm so relieved about because there is still work that I want to do here and I really want to stay with Sister Winanto. On Wednesday at the Doctor she gave permission to try biking to places that aren't super far. We biked all day and it was wonderful! It didn't hurt and there weren't any problems. Thursday we biked too. It was so nice to go to other places and go faster and meet with anyone and I just loved it! I had so much hope! Then on Friday we went to the doctor and they said biking irritated it and that I can't again... AHH! The sweetness that I felt for two days was swept from under my nose which was sad... But I've decided that it must be God's plan for us to walk. There must be someone we can meet walking that we would miss while biking. I'm sure there is something for me to learn in this experience. On Friday we also went to Sister ____ and Brother ____house for Brother ____ Birthday. Brother ____is from America and has been married to Sister ____ for about a year. He doesn't know much Indonesian yet so I try to talk to him at church so we can actually have a meaningful conversation instead of just small talk in Indonesian. They live about a half hour away so we went with a bunch of members in a 15 passenger van type car. I love getting out of the city here to see more of Indonesia with fields and more trees. After that we went to the other Solo Area because I was going to go on splits with Sister Nainggolan while Sister Solomon came with Sister Winanto. It was Elder Getter's and Elder Anderson's birthdays, so they got dihancurkan (destroyed), which means they got covered with flour and eggs. It is a weird Indonesian tradition that is so funny if it's not your birthday haha. It also was POURING rain so we got absolutely soaked and took a lot of pictures in the rain. On the split Sister Nainggolan felt a little sick so we only went to one lesson and then had our Ward Mission Leader meeting. It was good to see how other missionaries work and how Sister Winanto works so I can use what I like from both. Sunday was wonderful at church!! This week every time we went to Sister _____ home she wasn't there, so we were worried she moved and we couldn't find her and that she couldn't come to church. But on Sunday she came! She did move, but it's good because she moved in with someone who she works for. She babysits the family's children during the day. That is amazing because she didn't have any money before. She now has enough money to come to church by bus. Also ____ didn't cry ONCE during all of church which was AMAZING! We are going to try to teach her every Sunday at the church before she goes home. The Lord really blesses those who change their lives and keep their covenants that they have made. The blessings literally came so fast and I am sure many many more are going to come in the future! Also Sister ____ came to church!! She was a less active who we met with every week for a month but she had a problem with a member that she wanted solved before she came back to church. We continually testified that the way to be blessed to have our lives improved is to follow the commandments. It was so awesome to see her there with her mom and I hope she had a good experience! We are going to meet with her again this week so we'll see what she says. Also Sister ____ was able to come to church with her son ____ who is 6. I love to see the faith of members. Even though she can't tell her husband she comes, she still has faith and tries to teach her son about the gospel as well. They went to primary for ____ so he could sing and it was just so cute. I love seeing the hand of the Lord in the lives of these people. He WILL bless those who keep his commandments. There is no doubt about it. I have really gained a testimony of it. The faith of these members has strengthened my faith as well. They sacrifice a lot to be members of this church and they don't think twice about it. They love the missionaries and would do anything for us. I am so grateful for their example. I can sacrifice a lot more of my time when I go home to serving the Lord like the people here than I did before. I love you all!! Thanks for your emails and all the uplifting support I receive back home. Love, Sister Davis
